Dinner preparations

The dinner is organized by a committee of personalities from Nyahururu. Their networks are used to gather as many donors as possible to the event. St. Martin CSA helps with logistics. As usual, many in-kind donations come in: three goats, a few chickens, 10kg of rice, 15l of milk, etc. We then buy the rest. The catering service cooks and serves for free, that is their contribution to the cause. And in return, we prepare the ingredients. While some colleagues are busy peeling the potatoes, I and three others are waiting for the delivery from the slaughterhouse. And already sharpen he knifes behind the kitchen. Now I realize that those stones are not there by chance. Then we divide 12 chickens and four goats, all excepted and roughly cut, into pieces suitable for cooking. The knives are not worth much...

The dinner brought together 1 million Kenyan shillings (about 10000 CHF) which will be used for a new project to care for mentally ill people.
