How do papayas grow?

KabarnetThanks to a national holiday and the bridging day that St. Martin gave us, we had a five-day weekend. With a group of colleagues, we rented a small bus and explored the eastern edge of the Rift Valley - from Nyahururu via Kabarnet to Eldoret. Kabarnet sits on a rib and has spectacular views on both sides. Down in the valley, there are gorges and national parks. And the culinary specialities change every few kilometres. One region is famous for honey, the other for particularly sweet papayas. So we found what we were looking for shortly before Kabarnet. And I've learned that papayas grow on a small tree, straight out from the trunk.
